【摘要】:Thisstandardspecifiesthecharacteristics,performancerequirementsandtestmethodsforportablefireextinguishers.Referencetothesuitabilityofanextinguisherforuseongaseousfires(classCfires)areatthemanufacturer’sdiscretion,butareappliedonlytopowdertypeextinguisherswhichhavegainedaclassBorclassAandclassBrating.SuitabilityofextinguishersforuseonclassDfires(firesinvolvingflammablemetals)isoutsidethescopeofthisstandardinrespectoftestfires.However,extinguishersclaimingclassDsuitabilityarecoveredinallotherrespectsbytherequirementsinthisstandardforpowderextinguishers.!ItisconsideredhazardousforpowderandcarbondioxidefireextinguisherstobeusedonClassFfires.ForthisreasonpowderandcarbondioxidefireextinguishersareexcludedforconformancewithregardtoClassFinthisEuropeanStandard."NOTETheextinctionofametalfirepresentsasituationsospecific(intermsofthemetalitself,itsform,theconfigurationofthefireetc.)thatitisnotpossibletodefinearepresentativestandardfireforthepurposesoftesting.TheefficiencyofextinguishersonclassDfiresneedstobeestablishedonacasebycasebasis.
