【摘要】:Thisclassificationsystemcoversnylonmaterialssuitableforinjectionmoldingandextrusion.Someofthesecompositionsarealsosuitableforcompressionmoldingandapplicationfromsolution.Thepropertiesincludedinthisclassificationsystemarethoserequiredtoidentifythecompositionscovered.Theremaybeotherrequirementsnecessarytoidentifyparticularcharacteristicsimportanttospecializedapplications.ThesemaybespecifiedbyusingthesuffixesasgiveninSection5.Thisclassificationsystemandsubsequentlinecallout(specification)areintendedtoprovideameansofcallingoutplasticmaterialsusedinthefabricationofenditemsorparts.Itisnotintendedfortheselectionofmaterials.Materialselectionshouldbemadebythosehavingexpertiseintheplasticfieldaftercarefulconsiderationofthedesignandtheperformancerequiredofthepart,theenvironmenttowhichitwillbeexposed,thefabricationprocesstobeemployed,thecostsinvolved,andtheinherentpropertiesofthematerialotherthanthosecoveredbythisclassificationsystem.ThevaluesstatedinSIunitsaretoberegardedasthestandard.Thefollowingprecautionarycaveatpertainsonlytothetestmethodsportion,Section11,ofthisclassificationsystem.Thisstandarddoesnotpurporttoaddressallofthesafetyconcerns,ifany,associatedwithitsuse.Itistheresponsibilityoftheuserofthisstandardtoestablishappropriatesafetyandhealthpracticesanddeterminetheapplicabilityofregulatorylimitationspriortouse.Note1--ThisclassificationsystemissimilartoISO1874-1/-21993,althoughthetechnicalcontentissignificantlydifferent.Note2--Thisclassificationsystemisbeingrevisedtoincludeinternational4-mmspecimensandtestproceduresasthestandardforcompliance.The3.2-mmspecimens;testmethods;andTablesPA,A,andBareincludedinAppendixX3asareferenceforthosewishingtousethem.Itisrecommendedthatthematerialmanufacturerbeconsultedonallcalloutsagainstthisclassificationsystem.
